About the exhibition

Winner of the 2025 Canon Female Photojournalist Grant
In 2016, in Shchastia in the Donbass region, a group of teenagers were growing up a few kilometers from the frontline. Today Shchastia is occupied by the Russian army. The once close group of friends have taken different paths. They have become Ukrainian soldiers or Russian soldiers, patriots or collaborators, heroes or disappeared, parents or martyrs. They live in different areas, whether in occupied zones, in Ukraine, in Russia or abroad. Their experiences reflect ten years of war and how the fighting has shaped a generation of Ukrainians.
