About the exhibition
In the remote province of Badghis, Afghan girls have become commodities, traded by their families in order to survive the increasingly frequent and severe droughts caused by global warming. Due to lost harvests and livestock, it has become commonplace to marry them off at an increasingly young age. Even if the Taliban were to restore their access to secondary education, it would be too late for these girls, who have no future. As soon as they reach adolescence, they become wives and mothers and often become victims of domestic violence.
