Since 2020, the Canon Video Grant-Short Film Documentary is attributed to a film-maker and/or photographer, who is also loaned professional video equipment by Canon .
This grant will allow the 2025 winner, Shiho Fukada, to fund her project "Echoes of Little Tokyo", about a funeral home that has been run by a Japanese-American family for five generations, serving the community in Little Tokyo in Los Angeles.
