About the exhibition

2024 winner of the Françoise Demulder Prize

For four years now, the Taliban have once again ruled Afghanistan. After twenty years of democracy and relative openness to the world, this is a real step backwards for city dwellers. Women are confined to their homes, denied secondary education, and excluded from most workplaces and social settings. Between resignation and resistance, hope and despair, they try to snatch a few moments of freedom, defying Taliban law.

With support for documentary photography from the Centre national des arts plastiques, and support from Brouillon d’un rêve from Scam and the La Culture avec la Copie Privée initiative.
