Every year in Perpignan, Visa pour l'Image brings you a selection of the best photojournalism from around the world. With free exhibitions in the city's most beautiful historic monuments, Visa pour l'Image shines a spotlight on current events from around the world.

El Alto, Bolivia, 2025.
Population: 1.5 million.
The city is mainly populated by Aymara Indians from the interior of the country. Most of them were forced to migrate after various periods of frost destroyed their crops or because of the closure of the mines.
It is the highest city in the world with more than 100,000 inhabitants, at an altitude of 4,150 meters. In the background is the Nevado Illimani mountain, rising to 6,462 meters.
